The look
Overwatch 2 intentionally redesigned Tracer while keeping her recognizable identity. Blizzard described the redesign as preserving her core color palette, silhouette, and sense of motion, while moving away from the original retro goggles, bomber jacket, and leggings toward a sleeker and more technological appearance. The result is still immediately recognizable as Tracer, but the costume has a cleaner, more modern sci-fi construction.
Base costume
- 01Sleek futuristic upper-body jacket/armor layer replacing the more obvious retro bomber-jacket construction.
- 02Fitted dark bodysuit/base layer forming the torso and legs.
- 03Orange lower-body sections/tights, retaining the original character's strong orange color identity.
- 04Streamlined futuristic arm/bracer components with less exaggerated wing-like construction than the original design.
- 05Updated futuristic boots integrated into the sleeker silhouette.
- 06Updated chronal accelerator housing mounted on the chest.
- 07Smaller, more streamlined orange-tinted goggles compared with the original design.
- 08Blue chronal-energy details around the accelerator and equipment.
Character details
The key difference is the technology level of the costume. The original design intentionally had a retro pilot/bomber-jacket influence, while Overwatch 2 presents Tracer as a more modern and technologically advanced Overwatch agent. The jacket should therefore not be reproduced as a simple copy of the original bomber jacket. The upper body is more streamlined, with cleaner technical paneling and a more integrated armored appearance. The goggles are also noticeably less bulky. The legs retain orange as an important visual cue, but the construction is more streamlined than the original leggings.

What makes the cosplay read as Tracer
1. Short spiked brown hair. 2. Orange goggles. 3. Orange lower-body color. 4. Blue chronal accelerator. 5. Dual Pulse Pistols. 6. Compact athletic futuristic silhouette. The biggest mistake is making the Overwatch 2 version look like the original costume with slightly different armor. The overall construction should feel sleeker and more technological.
