The look
The 1990 Tim Curry version of Pennywise has a much more traditional clown appearance than the later film versions. His costume is built around a yellow/gold clown jumpsuit, orange-red hair, large ruffled collar, black vest, red pom-poms, white gloves, and exaggerated clown makeup. The design feels like an old-fashioned circus clown that has been turned sinister.
