The look

Xiao's costume is a compact, highly detailed warrior design that combines Chinese-inspired fantasy clothing, jade ornaments, cloud motifs, and Yaksha symbolism. Unlike a traditional long-robed adeptus design, his clothing is deliberately close-fitting and relatively short to accommodate his highly mobile polearm fighting style. The main palette is white, dark purple, black, turquoise, gold, and red accents.

Character details

Xiao's costume is intentionally designed around movement and agility. The clothing should therefore fit closely around the upper body while allowing enough looseness around the trousers for dynamic poses. The white sleeveless top creates the main contrast against the dark purple trousers and boots. The black collar and gold edging should be constructed carefully because they create a recognizable shape around the neck and shoulders. Jade is a major thematic material. The official design notes specifically use jade around the legs, wrists, and shoulders to represent Xiao's longevity and mysterious adeptus identity. The waist streamers and breechcloth elements use cloud motifs, reinforcing the connection between Xiao's ancient identity and his Anemo element. For cosplay, lightweight EVA foam, faux jade/acrylic pieces, thermoplastic, fabric appliqué, and metallic trim can reproduce the costume without making it excessively heavy.
