Dark blue bodysuit with a white-and-gold cheongsam-style overlay, a floor-length blue skirt-drape, and translucent horns. Pale blue-lavender hair with red horn tips is the recognition point; the palette is icy and low-contrast, so texture does the work.

The bodysuit needs to fit like skin or the design collapses, and the horns must be securely wig-mounted. The bow is a full second project — most people buy it.

• →Horns: clear resin with an internal red tint casts far better than painted foam; wig-clip them, don't headband them.
• →Bodysuit: get one with a back zip and matte finish — shiny spandex flattens her color separation.
• →Bow: buy a made prop or split-print it; the recurve shape is unforgiving to freehand.
• →Wig: her ends fade to green — pre-dyed only, home-dip-dyeing pale blue almost always muddies.
